David Carson
advanced Retrieval Practitioner
David joined the Ambulance Service in 2009 as an Ambulance Technician, qualifying as a Paramedic in 2012. He then completed a BSc in Health Studies through the University of the West of Scotland, graduating in 2014.
In 2016, David was appointed Team Leader across both Clydebank Ambulance Station and the newly introduced Maryhill Fire Station, supervising and facilitating the ongoing training of vocational technician students as well as student paramedics.
During his tenure as Team Leader, David also functioned as Clinical Lead for Clydebank Ambulance station and fulfilled Station Manager’s duties. He has a keen interest in on-going clinical training and development and has been involved with several Quality Improvement projects. In 2018 David completed NHS Education for Scotland’s Scottish Coaching and Leading for Improvement Programme.
David joined EMRS in August 2018 and is currently working toward gaining the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh Diploma In Immediate Medical Care. In his spare time he enjoys going to the gym, reading and music.
